Here’s a new band from Melbourne that have scored a couple of plum gigs supporting touring Welsh artists.
Both the Stereophonics and the Manic Street Preachers have had their stages warmed by these 5 lads and they’d not have been disappointed.
Getting a bit of radio play in the past few months with their single Hearts Hearts Hearts, Dead Actors Club sounded – to me at least – some sort of sonic cross between Franz Ferdinand and The Killers. Their sound is synth heavy, but the no-nonsense guitar lines cut through nicely. The melodies are great, and they have a brilliant showman up front in Rob Amoruso.
Their self titled EP is a great listen too (you can get in touch with them via their myspace). All in all, 2011 looks like being a big year, with plenty of recording and hopefully some touring. Get along and see them.
