Bleeding Knees Club, Drunk Mums

A wild, beer drenching couple of sets from Drunk Mums and Bleeding Knees Club takes place in a partly demolished old pub in Clifton Hill, all in the name of selling more footwear. Splendour in the Grass

After a 2 years absence, Byron Bay’s own prodigal son – Splendour in the Grass – returned to where it all began. It’s grown up a bit, and although unable to cater to the 30,000 strong crowds of Woodford, 17,000 folk were seemingly happy to swap dust for mud and return to what I’m sure every other review will refer to as its ‘spiritual home’. No camera gear travelled with me, so just a few snaps and some words. |
Mosman Alder

The Grace Darling’s stage is a cramped place at the best of times, but with Brisbane 6 piece Mosman Alder in charge of proceedings it looks even smaller. Hardly a hindrance though, the tight confines enhance an intimacy that stems from the music itself. Launching their new EP Burn Bright, the diverse group of musicians including a violinist and pianist, fill the cosy room with sound. Full Gallery: Mosman Alder It’s a far cry from the space they’ll experience in July up in Byron Bay at Splendour in the Grass, but judging from the reception at the Grace tonight, they’ve nothing to fear. |
