About The Photographer

Andrew Briscoe, Photographer

Andrew Briscoe – Photographer

My name is Andrew Briscoe. Most of the time, that’s what people call me.

I play the piano, and frequently attempt to play the guitar. I support two charities in the name of sport, namely the Carlton and West Ham United Football Clubs, and I take photos.

I began photographing live gigs in Melbourne on film back in 1996 for the same reason that I continue to do it now: freezing time.

Live music has an undeniable energy, an energy that words alone can’t express. Add a picture of a sweat-soaked frontman, a pain-faced guitarist, or a pensive singer-songwriter to those words, and suddenly you’re there. In amongst it.

My work has featured in print and online in publications including the NME, Omnibus PressThe Guardian, Veri.Live, In Press Newspaper and Faster Louder.

Born and bred in Melbourne – one of the world’s great live music cities – I’m lucky to still call it home. I do so with my wife and 2 young children, whose  love of music is growing as fast as they are.

Hopefully, the future is in good hands.

My Gear

I use Nikon equipment.
