Melbourne rapper Illy kicked off his National Cinematic tour in his home town of Melbourne. Friday saw the first of a two night stint at The Hi-Fi, and the local boy didn’t disappoint.

Indonesian duo Senyawa deliver a set the like of which The Hi-Fi probably hasn’t seen before (OK, save for the previous night). Rully Shabara and Wukir Suryadi give us half an hour of avante-garde mayhem – at time confusing, at others simply cacophonic –  but rarely dull.

Three have become two but somehow it still adds up to seven.
