Splendour in the Grass 2015

Winter in Byron Bay is so much more alluring than Winter in Melbourne. Splendour in the Grass brought the bands, the rain, the mud and most importantly, the Byron Bay Organic Doughnut food stand.

Future Music Festival 2015

Festivals in Melbourne. Generally, that means pouring rain or 40+ temperatures. Future Music 2015 though saw the city turn on the perfect day for a lineup that didn’t always hit the mark but ended on a high – even if for some it was a substance assisted one.

Splendour in the Grass 2014

Blue skies, green grass and not a drop of mud. 2014 was already shaping up as a very different incarnation of Splendour to the 2 years prior.

Big Day Out 2014

Whilst the crowd numbers were down on previous years, the Melbourne leg of the Big Day Out  in 2014 still had something for everyone.

The Polyphonic Spree (USA)

Tim de Laughter brought 14 of his closest friends out to Melbourne for 3 exclusive nights at the Melbourne Festival. In a makeshift venue, the crowded stage provided mayhem and majesty in equal measure. It’s a slow burn, the crowd seemingly not up for the involvement required at a Polyphonic Spree gig at first, but […]

Splendour in the Grass 2013

Armed with a new, permanent site in the North Byron Parklands (and quite some distance from Byron Bay), Splendour in the Grass was back for another year. Enjoying its 3rd location in as many years after spending time at Woodfordia in 2011 and Belongil Fields in 2012, 2013’s incarnation of Australia’s best festival had all […]

Groovin The Moo 2013

Bendigo was bathed in sunshine  for the annual Groovin The Moo festival at the Royal Prince of Wales Showgrounds.

Soundwave 2013

Grab yourself a black T-shirt and check out some of the pics from the Annual Soundwave festival, headlined by Metallica.

Big Day Out 2013

All the action from Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne for the 2013 edition of the Big Day Out, including the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gary Clarke Jr, Sleigh Bells, Death Grips, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and a conspicuous lack of pictures of The Killers…

Surrey Hills Music Festival 2012

Taking place in the leafy eastern suburb of Surrey Hills, the music festival of the same name turned on a dry day for the first time in three years, as bands, choirs, soloists, junior bands and entertainers delivered a great day of community music.

Splendour in the Grass 2012

Splendour In The Grass 2012

After a 2 years absence, Byron Bay’s own prodigal son – Splendour in the Grass – returned to where it all began. It’s grown up a bit, and although unable to cater to the 30,000 strong crowds of Woodford, 17,000 folk were seemingly happy to swap dust for mud and return to what I’m sure every other […]

Groovin The Moo 2012

The town of Bendigo laughed in the face of the bad weather down in Melbourne, and turned on a beautiful day for the annual Groovin’ The Moo Festival. In keeping with other years, variety was a huge drawcard for the event, with plenty of music genres covered throughout the day.

Splendour In the Grass 2011

A small matter of a re-formed Pulp along with a heap of other more than worthy festival fare saw me make the long trek north. A great birthday present from my family.

V Festival 2009

The 2009 V Festival moved over to the newly renovated RAS Showgrounds in Flemington. Boasting a strong lineup, headed by The Killers, Madness, Kaiser Chiefs, Jenny Lewis and even Vanilla Ice, there was something for everyone on show.
