Though armed with a new album, it was the cuts from the first couple of albums that really stole the show for the quite brilliant Franz Ferdinand at the Forum Theatre

Amanda Palmer & Grand Theft Orchestra (USA)

Part rock gig, part cabaret, part Jim Rose Circus, Amanda Palmer returned to Melbourne again to perform, well, anything and everything really.

Cloud Control

One of the hardest working bands in the country deliver a set befitting the brilliant Forum Theatre. Sounding more polished with every gig, and armed with their own take on the ‘difficult 2nd album’, the 4 Sydneysiders hit the mark.

You Am I

Hourly Daily! Hi Fi Way! It’s a You Am I retrospective par excellence at the Forum Theatre on Thursday night, the band’s 2nd of a 4 night run at the venue.

Garbage (USA/UK)

8 long years have passed and finally Garbage return to our shores. Tonight at the Forum, few would have left disappointed.

Tame Impala

Presumably to celebrate winning Album of the Year in pretty much every single poll on earth, Kevin Parker‘s band of fools from Perth kicked off a two night stint in Melbourne at The Forum Theatre that will no doubt get reviews of the rave kind.

James Morrison (UK)

The less Australian, non-trumpet playing James Morrison delivered a laid back set of tunes to a packed Forum Theatre on the 2nd date of his whirlwind east coast tour. Don’t miss the review in next weeks copy of In Press.

London lads Bombay Bicycle Club seemingly exceeded even their own expectations with their standalone shows in Melbourne. Originally booked for Richmond’s Corner Hotel, ticket sales were so fierce that it saw the gig moved to the far more plush surrounds of the Forum Theatre.

Zakk Wylde (USA)

Arriving at the Forum Theatre it was immediately evident that there were more people outside sucking down ciggies than there were inside the venue ahead of Zakk Wylde and Black Label Society’s Soundwave sideshow.

Supergrass (UK)

Britpop stars Supergrass made their first trip back to Australia since 2004, and sadly it looks like being their last after the band split in 2009.

Paul Weller (UK)

Ex-Jam frontman and songwriter Paul Weller made a long time coming trip Australia to promote his quite brilliant 22 Dreams album, and chose the perfect surrounds of Melbourne’s Forum Theatre to start the first of two nights in town.

Joe Satriani

Professor Satchafunkilus brought his bald head, fast fingers and sunglasses to the brilliant Forum Theatre in Melbourne on the 11th July. Did I expect guitar aerobics? Well, not entirely. But I did see 2 shows. One of them awful, one of them good. Both of them by Joe Satriani…

Arcade Fire (Canada)

10 willing participants on stage. 1500 in the audience. It all adds up to one of the most amazing gigs we’re likely to see this year and beyond. The Canadian masters of organised mayhem put on a show that would blow everyone away.
